Instructional Design as a Theory.
Instructional Design is an eclectic body of knowledge that draws from various fields like Educational Psychology, Pedagogy, Measurement and Testing. Every trainer, instructor, lecturer and teacher makes Instructional Design decisions intuitively everyday as they are engaged in the teaching process. The key to becoming an effective teacher is by mastering Instructional Design Principles as a systematic science and applying it consciously every time an Instructional Design decision is called for whether in the traditional classroom setting or in E-Learning. However teaching or learning Instructional Design as a theory is not easy.

Content of the Program
This 3 day program overcomes this by adopting a problem-based learning approach whereby participants are presented with instructional design questions as they are engaged in the hands-on task of developing an E-Learning courseware. By virtue of the heuristics participants are guided towards discovering Instructional Design knowledge while they develop a Programmed Instruction intended for self-learning using ToolBook Assistant Software. Among other things participants will master selection of Instructional Strategies both micro and macro, nine events of instruction, formative and summative assessment, immediate feedback and delayed feedback, formulating aims, goals and objectives.
